THE CHICAGO CARDS

What started as an idea over drinks ended with a fully funded Kickstarter campaign and my own deck of cards. I have always been fascinated with well-illustrated decks of playing cards and wanted to create one of my own. After figuring out the theme of the deck, my home town Chicago, Illinois, I was off to the races. I started out by dividing up the suites into categories then it was on to illustrating and branding the deck. After many revisions, I had a complete deck and the next step was figuring out the best and most economical way to get it out into the world. I decided to market and run my own Kickstarter campaign in order to make the cards affordable to produce in a decent quantity. In the end, I ended up reaching and exceeding my goal with 218% funding.
